Our client is a fast-growing biotech startup that is dedicated to developing innovative solutions for early cancer detection through novel methods and Data Science/Machine Learning as a core part of its mission. They are seeking a highly skilled Lead Bioinformatician to join our team and take a key role in our mission to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment outcomes.

 

 

What you'll do:

  • Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines for processing and analyzing large-scale genomic and transcriptomic data from clinical samples for early cancer detection.
  • Develop machine learning models to integrate multi-omics data and identify biomarkers that can differentiate between cancer and healthy tissues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biologists, clinicians, and data scientists, to drive the development and optimization of our cancer detection technology.
  • Manage and mentor a team of bioinformaticians, providing guidance on experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Develop and maintain best practices for data processing, analysis, and management, ensuring that all data is of high quality and properly documented.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest advances in bioinformatics, cancer biology, and related fields, and incorporate new techniques and technologies into our workflows.

 

What you'll need to succeed:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in bioinformatics
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R
  • Proven expertise in machine learning and data analysis techniques
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
